Good idea to put all these frostings in one hub. I will bookmark this one - thank you!

Thanks Catherine! The idea just came to me last night.

How do you know so much? We're lucky that you share it with us, that's how I feel. But darn you, now I'm craving just frosting and nothing in this kitchen comes close to preparing some. Rats. Well, best be off to the grocery store, thanks HB, K.

Mom loved sweets so much, I'd say we had homemade cake in the house at almost any given time when I was growing up. So Kim I guess that's my education here. I'm with you on the frosting. I don't have such a big sweet tooth, but as I was writing, I couldn't stop thinking about chocolate cream cheese frosting.

Thanks BC. I'm more of a main meal cook myself. Mom's the baker. Never been to Belfast. Is there a safe part of town? I'll take that hug. You have a great weekend too.

How very nice to have these in one easy-to-find place! My goal should be to avoid them but you've done too a job here...yum.

Sorry to lead you into temptation RTalloni. Thanks for stopping by.

Ya know, Rose Mary, I've decided that if you and me put our lil' ol' heads together, we uns could write us a Southern cookbook!!

rmcrayne 2 years ago

Funny you should say this habee, because we just watched Julie and Julia last night. It took Julia Child and her collaborators 7 years to write their French cooking cookbook!

Every time I have tried to make frosting it has turned out poorly... I think before I completely give up I will try yours...

rmcrayne 17 months ago

Mcmillen my mom said sometimes the humidity makes a difference. Granted, this was especially with the strawberry frosting with frozen strawberries and the juice. Sometimes it turned out completely runny.

happypuppy 9 months ago

Amazing job! My favorite is the butter cream frosting. Thanks for sharing these wonderful recipes.

good spread(excuse the pun) of icings. Thanks.

Phoebe Pike 3 months ago

All right, so when frosting gets a little "soupy" and won't harden, what do you add to make it useful?

rmcrayne 3 months ago

Phoebe, don't add all the juice from the frozen strawberries. If you still get it too runny you have to add more powdered sugar. If it's still runny and the layers slide, you have to place a few toothpicks to keep the top layers from sliding off. If your layers bulge in the center, you can take a string and cut off to make the layers level, and they will stay in place better.
